The Byre Theatre in St. Andrews is well known for staging fantastic productions for everyone. From pantomimes to opera to classics, it has an enviable reputation for bringing works to life in original ways. But we ask you – what use is all of that if your stomach starts rumbling halfway through The Crucible?! With the theatre only five minutes walk from Cromars, we decided to introduce a pre-theatre meal deal with fish and chips matched with a wine of beer for just £17.

Enjoy a taste of Scotland’s seafood larder when you meet up with friends before visiting the theatre. Our award-winning haddock fish suppers are the perfect start to an evening, with perfectly cooked food every time. Our fish suppers won the 2023 Best Fish Supper Award for the east of Scotland at the Scottish Fish & Chip Awards. Wash them down with a delicious beer or wine and you’re all set to go for a night enjoying the theatre! Just remember to book a table before you arrive as we can get very busy.

Enjoy a fish supper and beer or wine meal deal for just £17. Then, with a five minute walk to the theatre, that gives you plenty of opportunity to digest  and get ready for a night of storytelling ahead! 

Our haddock are hand picked and come straight to us from Peterhead. The fish is as fresh as it comes, and we cut it in an ‘angel cut’. This means you get a whole 8oz fish giving you more bang for your buck. Not only that, but our mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce are produced fresh each morning, giving you the finest fish and chip meal anywhere in St. Andrews. 

And don’t forget, if you want to treat the kids (or the grown ups too) we also do some absolutely gorgeous milkshakes. Choose form biscoff, white chocolate or Oreo all for just £4.95.
